EVERYONE HAS FRIENDS
FOLLOWERS are not your friends. I remember the days where your friends were your actual friends. Where those who needed you and you needed them were in your everyday life; they knew where to find you and had a number to contact you. If you haven’t heard from them in a while, it was nothing to shoot them a text, give them a call or just downright ring their bell to see them face to face.
EVERYONE IS PERFECT
remember those times, when all you had to compare yourself to was the Teen magazines you would see in the markets while you waited on line, when you turned on the television to watch your favorite music video on MTV and would see …. or on the big billboards while we were on our road trips. The truth is media has always been around and so has insecurities so comparing ourselves were and still is inevitable. The problem today is that we have such easy access now to the media because it walks everywhere with us. Now your average person is a super model on IG.
EVERYONE IS SUCCESSFUL
Before success was determined by your upbringing. Now to look successful to the world, you have to be constantly traveling, flaunt your cars and homes and
EVERYONE IS HAPPY
Life is filled with ups and downs ands everyone has their own cross to bear, rich or poor. We have seasons of happiness and seasons of sadness. It’s just life, When you get on social media, everyone is putting on facade even when they’re not trying. Why? Because no one wants to escape their real lives and get on social media to then bring that misery onto everyone else. Misery is not attractive. So we get online and pretend to be happy. We are positive, we are living life to the fullest smiling every time we pick up the camera to document our lives. We are who people aspire to be. This is what we make ourselves believe.
EVERYONE IS A GOOD PERSON
This is a narcissist’ playground. This is the best place to play pretend so that everyone loves and believes you to be this kind and positive person. I have seen people who are cruel behind closed doors get on social media and preach against the very bad things that they do. That is the beauty of being able to create your own persona and reality online. You get to highlight the good in you or totally fabricate the good in you while hiding your shadow. But that’s not human because everyone has a good and bad side to them. When spending time with someone in person, you get to see everything that they are even when they try to hide but on social media? You can put on a performance of a lifetime and no one will even know, Nor will they question or bat an eye.
It has allowed the ……to be righteous, the mean and cruel hearted to be sweet and kind, the manipulators to become the victim, … to be god lovers. .I can go on and on but need I say more? The point is in the metaverse we are all capable of being good people.
