NEVER STOP DOING THIS AS AN ADULT.
I’ve always said that adults are just children forced to grow up.
Although our bodies grow old, we still carry that kid inside—the part of us that once
Even as adults, we can honor that inner child when we never stop..
DREAMING…
“When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are. Everything your heart desires…..”
Dreaming came naturally for us. We imagined entire worlds without limits—who we could be, where we’d go, what our lives might look like. I dreamed of being a professional ice skater after watching Disney’s Ice Princess. I also imagined myself being a fashion designer, guitarist, —all at once. We dreamed simply because it felt good to wonder.
Somewhere along the way, dreaming became impractical. We were told to be realistic, to shrink our ideas, to stop imagining things that didn't make sense yet. But dreaming was never about having a plan— it was about hope, curiosity, and believing there’s more.
Dreaming keeps us connected— we stay alive to curiosity, imagination and the limitless possibilities of life.. Whether it’s fantastical, messy, emotional, or full of wonder, the most beautiful stories derive from our ability to dream.
CREATING…
My favorite thing to do as a kid was bring my fantasies to life.
My mother always had big cardboard boxes inside our home, and they eventually turned into my two-story dream house. Yes, that's right—instead of buying a Barbie dollhouse like every other girl my age, I made my own out of whatever craft supplies I could find: construction paper, cardboard, acrylic paint, tape, and glue. I would spend hours creating—the floors for the foundation, the walls for support, carving out windows with a knife, using my toys for furniture. And guess what? After a few days or weeks, I would throw it out just to start a new project whenever I got bored.
That is the beauty of creation. Creativity is about the freedom to imagine, experiment, and bring something from your mind into the world. It’s about dreaming with your hands. And here’s the magic: we don’t have to stop doing it when we grow up. The same joy, curiosity, and wonder we felt as children can live inside us forever, waiting for us to pick up cardboard, paint, or even just an idea—and start creating all over again.
EXPLORING…
As a child, the world was a treasure map, and every corner held a secret waiting to be discovered.
I remember inspecting our backyard as if it were an enchanted forest, searching for hidden insects, secret nooks, or anything that felt magical. When my family traveled on summer vacation, the first thing my cousins and I did was wander off into the next adventure. It didn’t matter where we were—a cruise ship, a hotel, or an amusement park—our curiosity would lead us to hidden treasures, places nobody else even knew existed.
The desire for exploration was endless. It wasn’t just about seeing new places—it was about curiosity, wonder, and daring to ask, “What if?” It was about touching, smelling, and experiencing the world with all of me. And here’s the magic: we don’t have to stop exploring when we grow up. Life is still full of secret paths, hidden treasures, and new perspectives—if we dare to look closely, stay curious, and keep wandering with that same wide-eyed wonder we had as children.
PLAYING…
As kids, we found creative ways to have fun.
We’d play Fear Factor, making the nastiest concoctions imaginable .…or toss those balls from the slot machines, bouncing them off the walls while dodging—whoever got hit was out the game. And of course, hide-and-seek—when was the last time you played hide-and-seek as an adult?
Play isn’t just a childhood thing. More now than ever, we need time to unwind and enjoy life—board games, dance, painting or spontaneous fun. Being an adult can boring, but it doesn’t have to be! Play reminds us how to live fully, laugh freely, and feel alive.
